Plannit

Privacy

Last updated 1 October 2026.

The short version. The details of the events in your phone's calendar are not uploaded unless you choose to share a specific event with a group. To find a time your group is free, Plannit sends up the start and end of the periods you're busy — no titles, no locations, no guests. Plannit runs no analytics, shows no ads, and sells nothing to anyone.

What is stored

What Why
Your email address Signing in, and sending a confirmation or password-reset code
Your display name, friend code, and profile photo if you add one So the people in your groups know who you are
Your time zone So a plan made across zones shows at the right hour
Your groups and who is in them Group membership decides who can see a plan
Plans and events you create in Plannit, including title, time and location if you add one These are the events Plannit is for, and are shared only with the groups or people you choose
Busy periods — a start time and an end time, with nothing attached How the date finder knows when your group is free. Unless you share an event, this is the only thing derived from your phone's own calendar.
An event from your phone's calendar that you choose to share — its title, time, and location if it has one So the group you shared it with can see it. Plannit keeps the copy in step with your phone: a change to the event updates it, and deleting the event removes it.
A notification token for your phone, if you allow notifications Addressing the notifications you have switched on. It is deleted when you sign out.
Crash reports Diagnosing crashes. They carry the device model, system version and app version, and no personal details, screenshots or network activity.

What stays on your phone

The titles, notes, locations, guests and attachments of the events in your phone's calendar. Plannit reads them on your device to work out when you're busy, and that reading stays on the device. This is a deliberate design decision, not a setting, and it is enforced by what the app is capable of sending.

The one exception is an event you share yourself, by choosing Share with a group on it. Only that event is uploaded, and only its title, time and location; its notes, guests and attachments stay on your phone.

Plannit also does not collect your location, contacts, photos (other than a profile photo you choose), advertising identifiers, or any usage analytics.

Who else is involved

ServiceWhat it handles
Supabase Hosts the database and authentication, on servers in the United States
Resend Delivers confirmation and password-reset emails
Apple and Google Only if you choose to sign in with them, in which case they confirm your identity and share your email address
Apple Push Notification service Delivers notifications to your phone, if you allow them
Sentry Receives crash reports, with personal details stripped before sending

None of these are given your data for their own purposes, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising.

Who can see what

People in a group can see that group's plans and the names of its members. Your busy periods are never shown to anyone directly: they are used to calculate times the group is free, and the result names only who is available, not why anyone is not.

An event you create is private until you share it, with a group or with a person.

Deleting your account

Open the app, go to the You tab, and choose Delete account. This removes your profile, your busy periods, your events, your group memberships and your friendships. Groups you own that still have other members are passed to the longest-standing member, so nobody loses a group because you left.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Children

Plannit is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will be described here with a new date at the top.
